Our range of programs are ending homelessness…one family at a time. By connecting families to emergency services, housing, stabilization and family support services, we’re helping them move out of homelessness and into stable housing for good.
PREVENTION
Family Promise of the Coastal Empire aims to end family homelessness by focusing on prevention, including poverty alleviation and debt reduction. They intervene quickly to keep families in their homes, avoiding eviction and minimizing stress on children. If families are already homeless but staying with relatives or friends safely, Family Promise supports them there while helping them find permanent housing and additional supports.

SHELTER DIVERSION
Shelter Diversion helps families experiencing homelessness restore housing or find a safe place to avoid entering shelter. This trauma-informed, client-centered approach treats homelessness as a crisis needing mediation. Key elements include case management and financial assistance, guiding families toward permanent housing solutions. Shelter Diversion aims to help families live independently, happily, and healthily.

SHELTER
We provide emergency shelter and basic needs to homeless families with children, offering a safe, welcoming place and connecting them with resources. Families stay in either rotational or static shelters. The rotational model houses families in different locations weekly through community partners, while the static model provides a fixed location. During the day, families receive support at our Day Center. 89% of families remain housed one year after completing our program.

STABILIZATION
Stabilization reduces the rate of families returning to shelter by staying engaged with them post-shelter, minimizing trauma and improving quality of life. It addresses secondary traumas such as financial strains, employment barriers, and mental health issues. Stabilization also fosters stronger community relationships with landlords, partners, faith communities, and employers. The goal is to quickly move families into homes they are proud of, using housing solutions like:
