RICHMOND HILL, GA – June 8, 2023 – Runners of all skill levels and ages are invited for an exciting evening of family-friendly racing at this year’s Red Hot Chili Pepper Race, slated for 6:15 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2023, at JF Gregory Park, Richmond Hill, GA 31324. This year marks the first time that the race will take place in the evening. Georgia Game Changers will host the 11th annual run, benefiting Family Promise of the Coastal Empire.

Runners will gather at JF Gregory Park for the multi-heat event, with a kid’s half-mile fun run, 5k, and 10k. After working up a good sweat, runners can cool down and enjoy a post-race party featuring dinner, raffles, vendors, and an awards ceremony.

All proceeds from the event will go to Family Promise of the Coastal Empire to assist homeless children and their families. Registration starts at $25 and will be $35 on the race day, with $5 off registration for groups of 5 or more. Dinner and dessert is also available for only $10. “We are thrilled to be bringing the Red Hot Chili Pepper Run back to JF Gregory Park this year for families in the community and moving the run to the comparatively cool evening,” said Executive Director Katrina Bostick. “This event is such an important part of our nonprofit’s mission, with every participant directly supporting our goal of ending homelessness in the communities we serve."

Local Faith Based community and area business owners are encouraged to take part in and support the eleventh annual race as a Ghost Pepper ($5000+), Habanero ($2500+), Banana Pepper ($1000+), Sweet Chili Pepper Sponsor ($300+), or Bell Pepper ($100+) sponsor.

“Sponsorship is a wonderful way to connect nonprofits and local businesses,” Bostick added, “We could not hold this event without the support of our community partners and the dedication of our volunteers.”

Family Promise of the Coastal Empire works with host congregations to serve families with children facing homelessness. The organization recognizes that poverty is a complex problem that requires a multifaceted response. The nonprofit, serving Bryan, Chatham and Effingham counties, respond by integrating educational outreach, effective policies, and the hands-on work of volunteers providing food, shelter, and support services.
